Creaky floorboard...

So, right, there's this creaky floorboard in my room, just in front of my door. The thing about it, other than it's extreme annoyance, is that it seems to move. Some days I can step over it, and miss it, but others I can't. It moves at least two inches forward, and then back. It wouldn't be so much of a problem if it wasn't so loud! My room is right above the living room, and I recently experienced what it sounded like from down there. It sounds like there is a hooje mouse squeeking in my room, well more like inbetween the upstairs floor and downstairs ceiling. Now, every time I step on it, I feel obliged to apologise to whoever is downstairs for the awful racket that I can't prevent. I've also started finding myself talking to it. Well, berating it for it's noisyness at 2 and 3 in the morning. It should really be more considerate.

I was thinking about maybe trying to fix it. I'd miss it though if I did. I've even named the ol' thing. He is called Lars, after Lars Ulrich from Metallica. Why? Well, because he annoys the heck outta me as much as this floorboard does, but I can't help but love him, because Lars is a member of one of my favourite bands, and this floorboard is a part of a room which I also love. (He'll also be one heck of a tennis player someday.) It's a complicated love/hate relationship which can never be solved, and one day, the floorboard shall be loved by everyone in the house, and those who come to visit. He shall even form his own hate campaign agaist something he dislikes, and use his name to sway the opinions of others, and therefore be hated for it. I shall pity and empathise with him when that day comes, but until then I will learn to live with him, and love him as he seems to be here to stay.

So, this blog entry is dedicated to Lars, the annoying creaking floorboard that impersonates a hooje mouse at 2am most mornings.
(Regarding the picture, I would upload one I have taken of Lars myself, but I'm short, so at 'Tallica gigs, I can't see him at all.. Not that I'm complaining about that. Just letting you know is alls =P)
